Kevin Parker
Biography

Kevin Parker was born on January 20, 1986. He is 34 years old. Parker was always interested in music, but his parents never fully pushed him to pursue a career as a musician. When Parker eventually went to college, he found that he was not interested in gaining a degree in higher education. He eventually began to major in Astronomy, which influenced his first EPs, Tame Impala and Tame Impala (2 EPs with the same name). He eventually signed a deal with Modular Recordings, an Australian record label, and dropped out of college. For then on, Parker focused on music. Kevin did not come out with music for Tame Impala right away. He worked with other Australian artists, such as The Dee Dee Dums and Pond, for a few years before beginning to record Innerspeaker. In the winter of 2009, he recorded the album in Perth and later released it in 2010. After touring for Innerspeaker, Parker then went on to record Lonerism in Perth and Paris, France. After releasing 2012, the album earned high praise from music critics and was named number one on many top albums of 2012 lists. By this time, Parker was a well known figure in the rock genre. After touring again, Parker recorded Currents over the course of three years between 2012 and 2015 mostly in Fremantle, Australia. Currents was released in the summer of 2015, and received high praise for its quality and mixture of psychedelia, hip hop, and rock. Then Parker toured once again, most notably headlining Coachella. Through 2015 to 2020, Parker slowly wrote and recorded The Slow Rush in California and Australia, eventually releasing on February 14, 2020.
