Discography

Innerspeaker

Innerspeaker was released on May 21, 2010. It was Tame Impala’s first studio album. The album received high praise, and gave Parker recognition. Innerspeaker features drums, guitar, bass, synthesizers, and other instruments. The most popular songs off the album are “It Is Not Meant to Be”, “Alter Ego”, and “Solitude is Bliss”.

Lonerism

Lonerism was released on October 5, 2012. It is Parker’s second studio album. Similar to Innerspeaker, Lonerism garnered a lot of acclaim for both its lyrical and musical elements. This album is the favorite of many Tame Impala fans. It features Songs like “Elephant”, “It Feels Like We Only Go Backwards” and “Mind Mischief”. The album focuses on Parker’s feelings of loneliness and how he deals with it.

Currents

Tame Impala’s third studio album, Currents, was released on July 17, 2015. Similar to Lonerism, Currents gained a lot of praise and attention from new listeners. Parker’s inclusion of other genres like hip hop and pop allowed the music to appeal to more people. The album features songs like “The Less I Know The Better”, which has 545,000,000 streams on Spotify, “Let it Happen”, “The Moment”, and “New Person Same Old Mistakes”. This is my favorite Tame Impala album because it incorporates a lot of interesting elements that make the song easily replay-able.

The Slow Rush

The Slow Rush is Kevin Parker’s fourth studio album; it was released on February 14, 2020. After five years, Parker released the album and it debuted at #3, according to the Billboard Top 200 Chart, the highest a Tame Impala album has ever reached. It also received high acclaim, although not as much as Currents and Lonerism. Parker continued to include other genres in his music while also focusing more on drums. The Slow Rush centers on how time affects Parker’s life.
